I have limited advice because I nursed about a year with all three of mine and we were both ready to move on. They were pretty easy...I basically went from me to a "sippy" cup (bottles briefly for two of them). By the end of the year my milk was slowing so I think it became more filling to have a cup or bottle. I pumped a little in the begining so that I could leave and my hubby could give them a bottle, so they were used to a bottle from him. I think with my last one I did it when we went to St. George for a week in May. Erik gave her bottles the whole time as she wouldn't take them from me very well. Maybe you need to plan it over a few days holiday for Landon so he could take over her feeding for a few days.
Good luck! I always go bra shopping at Nordstrom's when I'm done nursing!! This last time I was a little sad thinking it was most likely my last time - but it's so nice to have your body back!
Hey Lisa- This is the part that sucks. I don't know how old your baby is but I weaned my last one at about 10 months so I could go to Switzerland and I actually put him on whole milk and on a sippy cup, I did not even mess with a bottle. I don't know if that would apply to you because I am not sure how old your little one is. Anyway good luck.
I don't get it?
I hated it too! You can do it cold turkey. Eventually she will get hungry enough to accept the bottle. Or have your husband try giving her the bottle. She knows what you can give her ;) so she may be more likely to take it from your husband. Good luck and remember this will pass.
All I can say, is now you know for #2 to start the bottle and nurse from the beginning. I feel you pain and send out my most heartfelt empathy. No bottle, means no Break for you, and I know all to well how that feels. Hang in there.
question... does miss. helm really spell her name like me??! I am blown away!
it was totally good to chat with you about boobs and stuff today. =P Good luck and remember there's always a nice free day of shopping or night out with your girls that can relieve you of it. good luck lyndon! haha!
very clever way to get the message out there! is she at least sleeping better? good luck chiquita. mom
Hey Lisa I found your blog through Ashleys! Are you having drama getting that baby on the bottle! I hate to say it but I have had the same drama and the only way I did it was to let them scream....they will get hungry enough and take the bottle. I remember it being DRAMA....but it does work. Give your husband the job....the baby will probably take a bottle better from him! So Im adding you to my list of friends! Oh and if your little one is old enough.....( a year) skip the bottle and rock the sippy! That works!
